Investing in Real Estate, Sixth Edition retains its premier position as the most reliable, informative, and comprehensive guide to successful real-estate investing. Any additional comments? This book was excellent. A lot of information and very little fluff. So many of these real estate books are just "you can do it," garbage with very little substance.
This book was written for someone that thinks infomercial products are trash and has actual resources. I have an MBA and just completed my CPA and didn't feel like this book talked down to more or purposely dumbed down the subject matter. Couldn't recommend enough and I listen to a LOT of audio books. I agree with the others about the performance, it is slow, monotone and boring.
But if you can look past that there is a TON of great information here. This is the best real estate investing book I've read in a long time. For once I didn't feel like I wasted my time on another sales pitch from some rich dad. Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? Detailed and organized. Author has the actual experience. Who was your favorite character and why? What did you learn from Investing in Real Estate, 6th Edition that you would use in your daily life? I am in the industry, so I did not learn so much from this book. A must. Crucial information for anyone looking into real estate investing. I had to give it 4 stars because the narrator sounds like Siri is speaking for over 15 hours. As soon as I got to the end of this book, I started it again from the beginning. It covers all the basics and delves further into the most important stuff.
The narrator is excellent -- perhaps the best I've heard in any audio book -- though it was odd to hear a female narrate a male author's words in the first person. The only downside was listening through the numbers being broken down, for example, for net operating income NOI. What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you? The content is OK, but realize that this is the edition of this book. The narration is--i can only describe it a a digital reader on some kind of sleep medication.
My Iphone App Siri has better intonation and cadence in her reading than this narrator.. Every word is uttered in a non emotional tone and enunciated so that it doesn't feel like it's being read, but like it's beign edited out loud That would be my first return in over 40 titles ranging from currency trading to the history of Columbus. I feel bad for the author, who according to the intel I can gather, is a well respected real estate expert. What was most disappointing about Gary W. It's old news. Absolutely not. Buy low sell high. How can that not be true. Super helpful.
Easy to listen to. Maybe get the ebook or a hard copy for the graphs and charts and worksheets. But even without them this was a brilliant primer on real estate investing. A little dry but great information. Great content - very long chapters and hard to follow some areas. Need to breakup or outline more with clear headers. Great for learning how to research areas and doing Due Diligence as well as other skills needed to be successful in R.

During the past 10 to 12 months, the media have floodedus with news about the so-called mortgage meltdown,a doubling or tripling of delinquent mortgage loan payments, the dramat-ically increasing rate of property foreclosures, the tragic stories of peoplewho now suffer payment shock, and more generally, the millions of bor-rowers who paid far more for their property loans than they would havepaid had they shopped, compared, and negotiated wisely instead of merelyrelying on the supposed good faith of their loan representatives.
Louis, wasrecently quoted in The New York Times July 27, as saying, Drivenby the prospects of high fee income, mortgage originators have persuadedmany borrowers to take out these [expensive and unsuitable] mortgages. Isolated incidents? The U. Congress and the attorneys gen-eral of more than a dozen states are holding hearings and conductinginvestigations that clearly reveal widespread fee gouging, unsuitable loanproducts, nondisclosures, deceptive advertising, bait-and-switch practices, and other malfeasance by loan reps and mortgage lenders.
So, it is within this context that my editor, Laurie Harting, suggested thatwe bring out an updated edition of Mortgage Secrets All BorrowersMust Learn. Although any reader of the first edition would have beenforewarned against the abuses that are now coming to light, this new editionsets out in more detail how borrowers go wrongplus, it emphasizes howto make financing property one of the the most rewarding transactions ofyour life.
